Default Cams and Head work (your opinion)

I have a 2007 Street Glide with 30k on it and got the bike at the shop now for some motor work
Already have stage one, tunner, intake and pipes ( Rinhart from heads back )
Thinking about
Bore to 103 c.i.
Port and polish heads
Cams (looking at the S&S EZ start 583 cams ) gear driven if TIR is within .002 other wise back to chain
Hi Volume oil pump
New cam plate support (I beleave its the up grade screeming eagle )

Any imfo or advise would be appr.

07 don't need the upgraded plate or oil pump.

Geardrive on an 07 and up is considered a downgrade.
Tensioner system is primo.

With geardrive you put your self at risk, incase your runout changes a thou or two.
Tensioners will allow for that, gear drive will grenade.

Like said, Your 07 came with the better oil pump and different Hydraulic cam plate tensioner..
No Harm, No foul..
The gear drive is OK IF you check your run out.. IF the crank is MORE than .0035 Total, It is NOT a good Idea to go gear drive.JMHO...
The crank out of alignment side to side is a problem HD NEEDS to correct BUT has done Nothing to make it better.. May Next Year??? Ya, SURE.

The run-out on the newer TC's was Bumped up by HD , They knowing the problem of slipping cranks, so they say like .012 is the level.. IF out of square that much , The engine would shake to pieces.. LIKE THEY DO in quite a few...

I have Not tried the SS easy cams but Heard of good results.. I personally would Not use them. I prefer to use the compression releases instead.. Some of the comments on the SS EZ cams was a clicking at idle.
Just my opinion on SS EZ's but why have something UN-PROVEN yet to wonder about When the Old Proven way works so well...

Head work comes in stages by many different sources. You can get a clean up pocket port and a cam set for around $550.00. Piston kit, bore job, and gaskets for around the same money. You already have a good oil pump, a new billet cam plate is a great up grade, I like the bushings for th cams and pinion. The next stage head work that I like the best is the cnc porting with the 1.900" intake valve for more power yet. More predictable results with this set up. I would also plan on adjustable pushrods.
