Back plate stuck to carb!!

Back plate stuck to carb!!
Looking for a little help. The guy who had the bike before me used permatex or something like it to seal the back plate to the carb instead of the regular gasket. Now I can"t get the plate off of the carb. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

rubber mallet and gently whack it. I've had to whack cam covers off of the bike before. They can seal pretty tightly.

dawg, thanks for the help. I took the assembly inside and let it warm up then after a few love taps it came loose.

You need a gasket when you reinstall,nothing else.

I'm clear on that but the guy who owned it before must not have been the brightest.
