Maybe I should have chosen better words. I should have said I have had better success with the Mototune break in than the longer, more time consuming process. Rings seated faster and good piston/cylinder seal in 50-100 miles. I recommend changing filter at 100 miles, oil and filter at 500 miles and oil and filter again at 1000 miles; I like Shell Rotella 15W30 for break in. I personally don't use synthetic but, if I did, I would change over at 1000 miles. Short cut it may be but it does work.

BTW, more micro welding of rings is due to timing issues during breakin and not the breakin procedure. The only time I have experienced micro welding was following a well known pisto/cylinder suppliers heat cycling and break in procedure; I will never do it again nor recommend it.

Having said that, I don't take issue with those that choose a different path...............different strokes for different folks, or something like that. No need to go postal because you don't like the mototune breakin.

BTW, I got over the "I can't wait to ride my build" thing about five years ago.

At least we share a view there. I too would wait a thou before using syn.

Also agree, "different strokes" are allowed in this free country. Makes life interesting.
