Ethanol gas !!
Do you know there are places where gas not containing Ethanol is available? Read what Ethanol does to AIR COOLED motors. Gas available at boat docks at a lot of places is "E" free. WWW has a site that lists locations in all states that provide e free gas. I found this out a couple of months ago (about 6) and I think my Infiniti M-35, Dakota R/T, and beloved Black Beauty Heritage all do better on e free fuel. I do not check my mileage, just by performance, sound, and feel. IMO, politicians and sorts are about the only folks saying e is good for me & it be going to go from 10% to 15% sometime. Remember how a soft drink will disolve a nail? Put a little water in e gas with a nail and watch it vanish in time. JUST SAYIN'.

There are 3 gas stations within 5 miles of me that sell plain gas (no ethanol). And from what I'm hearing when they go to 15-20% ethanol most gas stations will still sell the 10% for the vehicles that can't use the higher amounts. The pumps with 10% will be separated or visibly marked so there is no confusion on what amount your using.

I am amazed. The 10% ethanol fuel goes right after those little rubber metering & pump diaphams in Walbro carbs used in 2cycle engines. Makes them wrinkle up and that is the end. No adjustment will make them run right. I had to use non-ethanol fuel to get more than 1 season of use out of a carb kit.

I'm not. I have a 2 cycle lawn mower and have never used anything but E10 in it. Still starts on the 1st pull and chews through that thick grass like a champ. Same thing for my other outdoor equipment and car. I've mixed it up on the bike and do get about 2-3 mpg more with 100% gas, but that's it.
The main reason E10 gets a bad rap is politics. People hate ethanol because talking heads on the news radio tell them it will destroy their motor, not because of the economic reasons to not like it. Easier to sell fear than the truth.
E20 and up however would not be a good idea in a vehicle not designed for it. E15 is the highest proposed that I've heard about in the near future and I'd try to avoid it until it's been around longer with proven results. Still, it's not about the environment or your motor... It's about the lobbies for corn growers.
