E85 & E90 Gas
Hello Fellow HOG Riders. I have in 2010 purchased a new 2010 Limited and am concerned with doing what I need to to make it last. I have for many years put Stabil in my gas tank when I put the bike up for the winter months. I usually go to the gas station just before putting it away, with a near empty tank, put in the Stabil in and then fill the fuel tank with gas. The ride home mixes it up and gets it through the system. Now I am hearing that Stabil will not work with the E90 and the soon to be common E85 fuels with the higher levels of ethanol. What do the prevailing experts think on this topic?

Uh...E85 and E90 are ethanol based fuels with a little gasoline mixed in. Not to be confused with gasoline that has 10% ethanol added, which is all we can get here in Pa.
E85 and E90 absolutely cannot be run in your motorcycle. Period. I can run it in my 2007 Chevy Tahoe that is spec'd as a Flex fuel vehicle.
As for your question, just put the Stabil in and you'll be fine.

I am not an expert either but I am sure that Stable will help it just has a bigger job to do. I run pure gasoline whenever I can and I am sure to run gas without corrosive fillers at least 3 tanks before I put it away for the winter.
I not sure if every state has pure gas available but this state by state list is very comprehensive.
