Yeah I kinda think that the fact that you've never seen this in 30+ years mean that they(the mfg's) are doing a GREAT job of quality control.

I don't want to give the manufacturers name but check out the top right cam journal. It wasn't milled and polished before leaving the factory. No way it will fit in the inner cam bearing without it. Nice huh?

Was doing a weekend install for a bud, we had to scramble around town to find another set of compatible cams and all we could find were gear drive that cost him more than double. Ouch

Just curious how long the owner of these cams had them in his possession before he opened the box to check the contents. If they didn't arrive until Friday, that's one thing. But if he's had them for a couple of days before the install, that would have given him time for the manufacturer to make it right.

I had them for about a week and only checked the numbers on the cam along with all the small parts identification in the boxes for the other goodies the owner had shipped to me.

Would have been nice to have noticed this QC error in a perfect world but.... how many cams have you received with one of the journals not ground? Seems the guys that make these cams, wrap these cams and QC these cams missed it too.
