TW 6-6 cam or Redshift 577?

You indicated that the bike was 103" which means it is a Limited which is 103" at 9.6:1 or a big bore kit was installed and could be the same or different. Going with heads that are reworked and shaved, as well as the addtion of a thinner headgasket could result in compresion ratios near or above 10.1:1, but again, could be much higher depending on the pistons. You need to find out what the compression is that you are working with as cams are very CR dependent and you do want to match the cam to the rest of the build, or vice versa if you have settle on a cam, then the headwork is dependent on what CR the cam runs best at. One other thing to consider is if going with a thinner headgsket, shaving heads, installing larger valves, etc, you must really consider valve to piston clearance. This can be an issue when you go beyond what are considerd bolt in cams, especially when increasing valve sizes.

I spoke with Dan at Baisley today. He is suggesting that I consider staying with the 255 and going with the superstock heads. I will have to mill the pistons to stay out of the way of the larger valves as they are the se flat top cast pistons. He mentioned that there are other cam choices but they will not add torque to the low end..well, at least not much more (and maybe less) than I have now though they would really shine in the higher rpm's. I'm looking to add 10 pounds in the 2200 to 4500 rpm range. (I rarely go over 4500)
So, now I wait for the cash to come raining in....about a 1500 dollar upgrade...
Thanks for the input!

Anyone have experience with this choice?
I am going to put Baisley Superstock heads on my 103. Just wondering about the cam. I have a 255 cam in the bike now. I am at 86/98 and would like about 10 percent more of both. (Its a bagger so I want low end torque)
Maybe someone knows if the 255 will work with a superstock head...?
