HD Slash Down "Slip-on Mufflers"...Part #80366-99
Good Morning,
Does anybody have these? I'm looking at them for my 2005 FXDWG (stone stock). Here's more details from Harley's site. I'm going to be on 2 weeks R&R during the middle of October, and was hoping to decide prior to that so that I can ensure my dealer has them and I can install them for my visit home.
My objective is something that is a little louder than stock, but not too much. Increase in power/mileage would be nice, but not a primary concern. Other recommendations are also very welcome. A search didn't turn up the data I was hoping for.
Input greatly appreciated.
Bob

I would go with the SE slash downs part number 80493-07. The muffs you are looking at are not going to give you much more sound or performance than stockers. The SE race mufflers are a little hard to find on the web site. They are under "experience/race" in a pdf file at this link http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...SE_068_089.pdf
These muffs, with SE air cleaner and re-jet/remap, have a nice rumble at idle, bark when you blip the throttle, yet are relatively mild when at cruising speed. They also have removeable baffles which will allow you to install aftermarket baffles if you want a little more/less sound.
