Probably 80% ....just saying a decent amount of power can be made from either a 95 or 98 with the right mix of components and a good tuner.

Another option I suppose is just get the s&s 97 kit still get my heads done or get their heads haven't heard much about their heads though. Im good on the cam choice and doing the roller chain conversion or should i do a gear conversion. Bottem end issues make me leary all though heard the early one (mine 99) did not have as much trouble with runout. by the way thanks for ALL who posted their opinions all of them are greatly appreciated!

We have been boring 88"-98" and 96"-107" here with our pistons that Wiseco manufactures for us, for over 3 years now, and have not seen problems.
Wiseco is the WORLDS LARGEST powersports piston manufacturer,(and a ton of automotive as well) and manufactures all the P&A group, and CVO group pistons for the Moco, as well as the 97", and 106", and all 4", and 4 1/8" bore units for S&S.
Wossner makes 'em as well as CP, for boring to 98", and 107".
All of them over work well, but we went with Wiseco, as we know the engineering team over there. Tom Davis, and Jeff Clarkin, and they do not see issues with it.

scott, you guys are having good luck with it,more power to ya,i just dont think its a good, long term thing to do.back in the evo days,no one would have ever thought in a million years to go .060 over,(but then again .002 runout on a lower end and it was time to tear down & retrue it,now .012 is acceptable, times change i guess!!)

It gets pretty hot in the summertime traffic on the beach where I live and I try not to go there too much but the bikini's just keep me going back, I like havin thick cylinder walls. I just did heads and cams and it's running great. I think I will be going with the Wiseco 3.885's for 1700cc's/103.72ci's in the future. I keep on getting the urge to try the TW5-6 w/1.90 intake valves and the Wiseco's are a part of that package.

Have had great luck with the Wossner pistons and the 3.932 overbore for 97 & 107
BTW the factory 113" cylinders are just .060 over 110 castings and when the bores are corrected they work well.

Not a straight across the board deal and agree on the EVO.

Okay Dokey i see that the opinions of the 95 or 98 varies in this forum. Great to see the input helps make an informed decision. With that being said my cam choice the woods tw8 good choice or no? As well as the decision to go with the hyd/roller chain conversion good or go with the gear conversion. Bob woods said setup compression should be 10.8:1 with that cam, said thats the cam i should use, he's also the one recommending the roller setup. Some say thats too high of compression lower it or stick with what bob says? Ride in Michigan and plenty of 93 gas here.

Just my 2c, but I wouldn't run a 3.938 bore unless it were nickel-silicon-carbide electroplated bores from Revolution Performance and to me they are just to expensive for the extra 4 cubic inches. Were talking 750-900.00 with pistons Harley's don't seem to make much more than 1-1.2 hp per cubic inch, naturally aspirated. That's a lot of $$$$ for 10-12 hp and There is not a lot of meat left on the bone after a 3.938 bore on a stock Harley cylinder

Pick up the phone give Kirby a call. I know you wont be disappointed http://www.veetwinperformance.com/
