if the the threads aren't that buggered up, you can go buy a tap and chase the threads. otherwise prob will have to install a helicoil.

Default 18 mm

Its 18-1.5 A metric thread. Same as a spark plug. I have actual cut a few v-shaped cuts in an old sparkplug with a file and used it to clean up the threads. In a machinest world the tap is for cleaning up or threading the hole. A die(usually adjustable) is for cutting the male thread and a die-nut (not adjustable) is used mostly for cleaning up a male thread

You may be correct depending on year and I am going back 2 years. Looked out in my box for that plug and did not see it--think it came out of an old V-8 Ford van. I am sure that was the size for an 07 as I was putting a new take-off exhaust system off a 07 on my 04 a couple years ago when I cleaned out the thread. The sparkplug in my Harley's motor is 12MM (about .467). My Toyota truck sparkplug is 14MM (about .545). They have the seal washer. That Ford plug I used was a angle seat plug with no washer. 18MM is .708. I have the box the oxygen sensor plugs came in and it is marked 18-1.5. however I am like you. 18 MM seems pretty big. If it was not pouring rain here I would go out in shed and measure the darn plug. Owe an answer to another FP about transmission bubble oil also HA.
