Default Big Bore...STD or Hi-Compression? Power difference

So I thought I'd ask, if anyone has set up their TC88 with a big bore and stock ported heads with something around an SE204 cam and what kind of power diffs between STD and Hi-Comp pistons. I have a friend with an 02 Electra Glide and it is big bored High Comp with SE203 cams in it stock heads and makes 86hp and 100tq. And he runs pump gas. Mine is a carbed Dyna.

So the big questions is WHO and HOW MUCH does it run to get a set of stock heads worked with decent street flow numbers for a high comp big bore and what kind of power with what I already have on the bike which is SE204 cams and a 2>1 short drag header with stock carb jetted and thunderslided and a HyperCharger Pro-R ?

with 203 cams, his comp. couldnt be that high. or it would be pinging like a *****.

you would pick up 10-15 lbs of torque with a properly set up bike, the cam selection would be the factor on when it would come on, with a 204, it would be a bit later that say a Woods or HQ cam.

the 204 cant realy handle much more that 10.2 to one, so we would need to know subjectively as to what you think High compression is..

For me, its 10.5 on a HD, and i would NOT run a SE 204 cam with that kind of squeeze.

If you are going to run the 203 or 204, keep your CR at or below 10.0:1 for ease of tuning and eliminate pinging. You really need to consider the cam profile and match that with CR.

Go here www.protwin.com for info on head porting services and costs.

When considering cams and compression, is the concerned compression static or corrected? Just curious about this....
