Get all of those pieces out of there.. Hoping that the oil filter will pick up most of it..Get out what you can..

How many miles indeed, (and can we assume it's a 2004 motorcycle?)

I was experiencing intermittent oil pump failure so I took everything apart. I noticed that my cam tensioners were about 3/4 worn and small pieces missing. When I took apart the oil pump, the walls of the pump were scored, causing the loss of oil pressure. I have to believe small pieces of the cam tensioner got inside the oil pump and damaged the walls. If I were you I'd check the pump just to be on the safe side.
