I think the 255s should be good out to about 4000 rpm, but I have never run them.
On the other hand, I spend about 95% of my time between 2500 and 3000.
Of course for me, neither the 255 or the 48H are an option on the early engine. Now if Andrews was listening and wanted to make a 48N

26HG .490 lift; 226.230 duration Stock Bolt-in cam for 88-95 inches - stock compression ratio. Great for two up touring, this cam will add torque and HP at lower and middle RPM ranges. (1800-5200).
Very happy with the changes, compaired to stock she pulls like a truck. I do notice it drop off over 5000 but thats not where I'm at most of the time. Currently tuning with TTS Master Tune but I had a PCIII that worked very good until I added baffles which put the fuel map out of whack and I got tired of trying to figure it out (no dyno around here).
