i put a Mikuni on my bike, and had it jetted on pretty much a stock motor, and it made almost the same HP and torque as it did with a just Big sucker AC and SE mufflers.

If i had it to do over, id send the stock CV to Woods and have it worked.

I've already received the cam, which I went with the S&S 510G kit. I know I picked the right cam as I don't plan to get larger jugs or head work and it is highly recommended, but several times in the past I had a great running bike and I just kept fuking around with it till I screwed it up.

Pulling the trigger on a thunderheader tomorrow, and the lifters and adj pushrods. I just hope I don't regret it. Anyone else have this same 510G/thunderheader combo that can reassure me I'm not messing up? If so I'd love to hear it.
Whose installing the gear drive cam?? You should have them your crank's runout before they install the cam!!! i would probably run a +4 advancer with that cam depending on comp your at.If not it might be a little soft on bottom end running stock comp!!! Well, I see you had it done, did they check run out on crank? You might be ok because bike is 01.I think that year has timken bearings!!!
