CFR mufflers on Street Glide

What I've read is......
What I've read is that the CFR's have a rather large baffle diameter (3" I believe) and furthermore, its perforated rather than louvered. All this adds up to insufficient backpressure for mild engine set-ups, like stage 1. I suppose high compression engines with later intake closing cams could make better HP with these mufflers but for touring bike engines which typically focus on the lower and mid ranges, problems you're talking about come up. Damn shame because they sound great! I'm curious as what you're using for a tuner and to what lengths you've gone to ( self tune or dyno tune) to get its manners in check.

I spoke with PC tech and we mapped it for a RK w/true duals. I am thinking because they are wide open..., runs pretty good now but i think is is still burning too rich. Have u played with your tuner program. You could check the ingnition tables.. Once I get what I think is close I my go for a dyno.

I love the sound of these muflers, and nobody in my area has them. I have been hesitant to buy them because I hear they rob power and are hard to tune with a stage 1. How many guys are running them with a fuel moto 2-1-2 headpipe a/c and tuner without any problems? Did you have to have it dyno tuned to get the map correct?

I think I have found the right MAPP, however it seems that I am burning a lot of fuel. or maybe I have a problem with my wrist on the throttle (but dam it sounds good). I may have it placed on the Dyno
