Default 1989 FLTCU oil breather issue

Purchased a 89 FLTCU last Sept. Bike has 17k miles on it. The other day, started bike for the first time this year. Bike started right up, and discovered oil was pumped into air cleaner and leaking down engine. About 2 -3 ounces of oil flowed from breather and then stopped. After this engine ran fine and no more oil was pumped out. Appreciate any info/ideas.

Your bike had some oil leak down into the crankcase while it was parked. It is very common. When you started your bike it blew oil out the crank vent untill the oil pump had pumped the oil from the crankcase back to the oil tank. I happens on my 88 flhc every spring except on mine it blows out vent hose into a pan I put on the floor. Its caused by a defective check ball.
