Default Mikuni 42mm intall

I have a 42mm Mikuni carb with a stock twin cam intake manifold. The carb seems to be a friction fit inside the intake without the rubber gasket. I don't see how it will fit with the rubber gasket. Can someone describe the install procedure ? Can a stock rubber gasket work? Do I install the intake on the carb then install the two on the cylinders? How much is the norm for the material amount you have to remove from the fins to get a good fit?
Thanks,
wheelspin

Found out why the carb does not fit on a stock TC manifold, it is a 45mm Mikuni not a 42mm Mikuni.

Oh no!

now you just have to go buy a bigger intake....darn

i would just grind the bare minimum you need to get it to fit. I used a Sharpie and make a couple of marks and hit it with a file.
