I say leave it alone. If you start screwing with it you'll be like 90% of the posters here asking questions about "what went wrong with my build". Keep it clean, tune it for touring, and run the crap out of the Sporty when you're feeling spunky.

Well I have 95" jugs and pistons coming in 9.4/1 CR. I have a couple way to go on heads and work if I can run down a set of Take offs.

Now I am stuck on cams

Andrews TW37B

Feuling Reaper 525

Or Woods TW6-6

All seem to be a good low to mid RPM cam with the Feuling having a little wider band.

Any thoughts on the above cams?

I also have a SE Super Tuner on the way so who ever builds it can put it on a Dyno or so they told me at the HD shop.

My 98" juggs and heads from Hillside are on the way as I type. I'm already running the Wood 6 cam. In the current 88" motor, the Wood 6 comes on a tad later than I'd like, but it pulls like a son of a b!tch once it comes in. A 4* advance would help with it coming on sooner in the stock set up. With the new heads and the new bump in compression, it should be like night and day, and come on a bit sooner. Give me a week, and I'll give you a progress report.

Jimmy,
You'll want to pull that advance gear out and run that cam straight up, as we have the mechanical ccp set right on the button.
It ought to be able to pick the f/tire on an aggressive 1-2 gear change.

As ive stated before, Im from SLC, and i respect all the info from all the previous posters.

I want to put this out on the table to help you and to give guys like Scott some added info to help you.

First off, keep in mind you are at 3000 ft. plus above sea level. I would not run much less than 10.5 to1 mech. compression up there. I have a Utah set up for my bike that is a mech. 10.8 to 1 for if i ever move back there. Obviously you have not done your head work yet, so you can mill the heads and correct the compression. That being said, i wouldnt choose ANY of the cams you mentioned. I would take advantage of the head work and run maybe a Woods 8 or Tman 590 or 625, or another higher lift option.

We set the Wood 8 at 10.7-8 cr.
If pileing the sqeeze on to compensate for an elevated area, what happens when you come down on the ground?? My strong belief would be that detonation would certainly rear it's ugly head in a BIG way.

Hey Scott, I think you misread me. I'm not running the 4* gear right now. I am looking forward to the new set-up though. If that damn delivery truck would just hurry up...........

I totally agree, I dont road trip my Dyna and in Utah you start at 3000 ft and go UP! but my comments were only ment as an advisory note to help tailor the parts.

I feel that throwing together a 9.4 motor together up there will be abit lame. JMHO (UNLESS ITS OVER 120 CI)!
