I agree with Rob. That sounds like a tight gear tooth fitment.
Also earlier in the thread, it was mentioned that Andrews said 4 hp over the early silent chain. We saw that as well back in 2001. Wood 9B chain, and converted it to Wood 9B gear drive. 3-4 hp and torque was witnessed.
We will not install gear drives here, if we see more that .003" pinion shaft runout.
Nothing wrong with the late model OE chain set-ups.
