Default Loss of rear cylinder in 2006 FXDi35

Hi and good day to all,
I would like to be riding but the bike has developed an unwanted habit of shuting off the rear cylinder after two hours of continous riding. It does not return to normal until the following day when it is stone cold. This sounds like a coil begining to fail to me. The HT leads and the spark plugs would have failed nearer the start of the ride, long before the problem occurs. Any suggestions? Cheers, T

That would be my first guess too. Check for spark when it quits. If the spark is good check compression. Have been seeing a lot of stuck exhaust valves lately.

I did check for spark when the cylinder quit and there was none on the rear cylinder. I took the bike to the Dealership and they hooked up the computer that verified what I had told them, sudden loss of power and running on only one cylinder. The computer also told them that the engine management system had compensated by injecting more fuel into the non-firing cylinder. There was nothing in the codes as to why the spark from the rear cylinder had disappeared. The O2 sensor was good, spark plugs normal colour. I will check the compression though as a sticking exhaust valve could take a while to overheat and the way I ride the engine operates in its higher heat range. Thanks for the reply.
