Need Assist: Stuck on Stage 1 Upgrade
EDIT: STAGE 1 COMPLETED AND I FIGURED QUESTIONS OUT. THANKS TO JAMIE FOR THE WEEKEND ASSIST. LIKE WHAT IT DOES FOR THE BIKE.
Ok, so this morning I decided to tackle doing a stage 1 upgrade to my 2009 Fatbob. So far, so good, but I need to confirm a couple things. I'm not a wrench, so bare with me.
1) The PCV Oxygen sensors just serve as a plug, correct? In other words, tey aren't connecting to the stock oxygen sensors off the header pipe. I really don't see how they could without having to splice it into the stock sensor wire.
2) I'm stuck with the Fuelmoto air filter install. I've never replaced an air filter before and when you begin to mount the back bracket, there's a small, thin copper disc about the size of a silver dollar with two tiny copper screws that mounts to a thin horizontal bar inside the throttle body. I thought when I removed the stock air filter, I was able to push my finger on the disc and it would rotate open. When I replaced it with the Fuelmoto backing plate, it seems locked tight and won't angle open. Am I dreaming about it being able to freely open on a hinge? Or, have I overtightened something. I don't see how I could overtighten this, so later I'm going to start it up without the air filter on and give it a little throttle to see what happens.
3) Last, again with the FuelMoto install, what do I do with the connector that I unplugged from the stock air filter when I took off the plastic backing bracket? There's nowhere to plug it back in. Do I just let it hang free inside new air filter??
Thanks guys! I truly appreciate it. This is the last step before I clean her and fire it up, so I'm anxiously awaiting your help.
