Default Next step Air filters. choices

Do Air filters really make a difference as far as style. I am looking to do the next step and go get a air cleaner. Im either looking at a second generation hypercharger, or just a regular type round Arlen Ness or Jims.
Does the Hypercharger have any performance gains over a cheaper style filter. Looking at $125-150 difference. the hypecharger being more.

Not planning on building a ground pounder engine, but do have plans on at least 100 foot pounds.

Does this Hypercharger work better with 2-1-2, 2-2, or 2-1 pipes? What about other sytle filters?

Know nothing of those second generation things, as the 1st generation left a bad taste in our mouth.
An S/E, or Ness backing plate works good, but the Mac-Daddy is a Dorherty Power Pacc.
That combined with either a Bob Wood element(for use under a 8" round Evo cover) or our Hi-Flo element that is the largest, that fits under the T/C football cover, is about as good as it gets.

With a name like hypercharger, Its probably more expensive and less effective than a K&N or SE air filter. Performance isn't a fashion statement, its about what works. Now if I could just find an air cleaner that works good and doesn't make my right leg stick out in the wind, I'd be happy.....

Really wanted that screamin eagle one but my leg would be out of place with it. I think Ill just keep it simple and get a 130 dallor round air cleaner.

You need to get more than just the air cleaner. You need the backing plate, filter, and cover. Just getting a filter and cover won't do you any good.

Take Hillside's advice. At least get the SE or Ness backing plate with a K&N filter. You can delay the filter for a while if you get one with the kit. Then put on a cover you like.

Here's a good deal on a Ness Big Sucker

Other kits, etc.
