Exclamation Woods TW408-48?

Does anyone out there have these cams or tried them before? I have a set in my 2000 FXDX with the 4 degree advance gear. I have tried searching everywhere on the net to see what kind of numbers I should expect. I have a 88", stock carb., S.E highflow, 2into1 FatCat with the cams and I'm getting 78 hp and 88 tq SAE. I'd like to see what these cams do with some compression. With all the dyno charts on Bobby Wood's site he doesn't have one with these cams.

The way you have set up now this cam might be similar to the Woods 6, the lower lift one, without a advance gear.
Something like that.
I would thing a little head clean up, with milling 0.060 and a 0.030 gasket would get where you could take the advance degree gear off.

My previous build with that 408-44 cam is on his site.107" though but I liked that cam.It pulled great and never ran out of steam.I just wanted more.More compression as mentioned will help along with a valve job since you'd be in there.

I have the 408-44 and 4 deg in a 96in wide glide, 94hp 101 tq.
Hillside has my heads and a s&s 106 kit is on the shelf. It runs good now I can't wait to build it more.

Spence.... so you had the 408-44 and 4 deg in an otherwise stock 96" - and you got 94hp 101 tq??

Those are nice numbers.... can you tell me when did the cams "come on" and was it a little soft on the bottom with the stock compression?

Those cams w/ adv came on pretty strong,I also have the evo ind 30 tooth sprocket so it hits the rev limiter pretty fast off the line.

Thanks, thats the kind of feedback I wanted to hear.... how did they perform without the 30 tooth sprocket? I want to run mine with the stock gearing.

I did the gear down and cams at the same time so I cant say but I dont think you would not be happy with that grind.

If you bored your cylinders to 98", set it at approx. 10.5 cr, and address those early heads, you'll have some VERY serious power.
