Scott, have you had any experience with this cam as a bolt in to the later 96" motors with stock heads and stock compression? with or without the adv key....

JCK thanks for posting up those charts.... the first one running the 408-44 +4* adv really doesn't look that great. OTOH the 106 build with the 54 looks really impresssive!!

Hog,
If your looking for rock-solid info, on the 408-44 mag combo, professionally assembled, and professionally tuned, take a peek at www.joescyclerepair.com, or www.wood carbs .com.
BTW fellow forum member RyanL, had his 98"/Wood 6(smallest cam he makes)/Stage III Heads professionally tuned by Brian at T-Man's, and showed 111/112.
Check your pm's.
Scott

Scott dont try an say the numbers above are from a bad builders are a bad tuner. Charles Coleman put them together an has been doing bikes longer then you. The tuner is Michael at HD Montgomery an was ref to me by the people at T-man preformance. But when you put crap parts in you get crap numbers. Now go bullshit someone else.

Scott, I checked that site and could not find any info on the 408-44 mag combo in a stock compression bike.

What are your thoughts on the 408-44 mag + 4* adv in a stock compression bike???

The ""44 Magnum" is a very powerful cam, and the 4* advance will help, but needs more compression, to effectively show it's entire worth.
IF you are heading to a 103-107" later, with a good set of heads, then the 44 Mag is your man, hands down.
Give us a call, and we will be happy to discuss this with you.

That's alot of cam for your motor even with the 4 degree advancer. You need headwork & a serious bump in comp to make that cam shine.Probably runs like a pig down low???? Your numbers are probably in line for a stock motor with stock comp.Call Bob & see what he says!!! Send the heads to Baisley, & raise the comp.I'll bet you she'll run like a rapped ape then!!!!
