Installing TW6-6 cams - advice needed
I am putting in a set of TW6-6 cams and adjustable pushrods in my 2010 otherwise stock top end, I have heard that these cams "can" be loud and harsh on the valvetrain....
So my question is - is there any tips or tricks when installing these cams to ensure they are installed correctly and not too noisy??
Thanks for any advice.

Adjust your pushrods .140 into the lifter, instead of just .100. If you run them deeper into the lifter, they shouldn't be too loud.
It would be good to replace your inner cam bearings with Torrington B-168, but it;s not required -- my stock bearings went 52,000 miles but were about shot at that point.

I had a noisey 7H. Almost 2 years of trying everything to quieten down. Noisey bad. Had Woods springs which were set original for 400 cam. Nothing helped until I put in Woods Lifters. No noise after that now. Fancy talk about these lifters but I think the tighter clearances is the reason.
So I put in Woods TW400-6 and still no noise. Stock cam chain drive. Sounds like a quiet stock engine.
Convinced the lifters work.
HearQuarters have new lifters available also

I have the Beasley 15% spring.
With 20-50 oil, startup I have 60# pressure, air temp around 75 F here in Texas. Runs with Amsoil 20-50, 45#'s hot, 200 F degree)
I think Multi Vis oil available today a whole lot better idea that straight oil. Used to buy 60 Wt Shell Aviation oil for a 73 Shouvle(?) way back. Today if I had that bike I would run 20-60 Wt.
50 or 60 straight wt oil at startup might blow the guage off.
A big load on the oiling sys.
Not to mention 95 % wear comes in the first 5 min of after cold start.
I have a 0-100 # guage ordered cause I don't like to see this thing pegged out or running on the high side of midpoint.

Thanks, I am looking at the TW7-H as a bolt in cam for my 96".....
