What type of motor

If your motor is junk you can get it rebuilt thru the MOCO's program. Comes back as a new stocker.
If you're looking for more power S&S has a good product & a few different motors to choose from.
You don't want a revtech motor. Or a motor that's pieced together.
There's some others out there as well like Jim's, G-Squared, or Ultima. They all offer something different. Figure out what you want to get out of the motor then the choice will be easier.

S&S IS best.....but....
if you can't do most of your our maintence or know a good indy shop you should build your old motor up strong. Most Harley shops won't even change tires once you've changed to a different motor. They say it's not A Harley. A friend of mine put in an S&S in a'97 Electra Glide Standard & ended up going to 5 different Harley shops to even get tires changed. Not saying ALL will take that stand but if you're on a road trip it could present a problem.

Alot of good info. Well there's a guy who's sellin a new 96" s&s with edelbrock heads $2850.00 It was for a build but changed his mind. Ive heard nothing but bad things about our local HD mechanics, we have some custom shops that will do the work.
