I had a Mikuni HSR42 on my previous RoadGlide and it was awesome. Easy to tune, great throttle response.... no issues.

Unfortunately, I have no personal experience with the various S&S units so I can not compare the.

I agree.

Had a Mikuni HSR 42 on Wide Glide. Now an HSR 45 on Street Glide.

Complicated question. Depends on motor size & configuration. Do not assume bigger is better. Do some research before choosing one.

I used the 42 with a 95CI. With the 103CI, I used a 45. With a 120CI, probably a 51!

I don't understand why you would take off a jap carb and put on another jap carb. Buy american.

The HSR42 is more than adequate for a 95"....

S&S carbs are simple and easier to adjust (any bike shop could do it) and you can find parts for them anywhere if you have problems. Mikuni are more complicated to tune (use someone that has experience with them), parts aren't as easy to find as S&S, but they are a better performer.
