Default Which heads /pistons?

Hello, I recently had some engine damage and need to purchase either screamin eagle heads or S&S super stock heads and correct pistons.
My bike is a 1995 fxdwg with Evo 80ci. with cycle shack slash cut 2-2 exh se air filter set up. I just finished installing a single fire ign, ev27 cam, S&S roller tip rockers, Mikuni HSR42 carb, Thunderheader to come in the future. I skimped on the tappets and the they collapsed or went solid at high rpm, causing the rear intake valve guide to break off and got sucked into the ft cylinder damaging the ft piston, minor damage to ft head near the edge of the combustion chamber. I think the stock heads can be repaired, but the cost of shipping repair and porting will be close to new screamin eagle or S&S heads.
I want this bike to rip, I am thinking SE heads with wiseco pistons possible a bigger cam. I ride hard but also need to be reliable for cross country trips. I also considered Branch flow, but $950 plus shipping is a little steep for me.so far I ordered new S&S push rods and S&S tappets, but now need pistons and heads and possible cam. I would like to hit 80-90 hp and torque. My available funds for heads pistons, boring, and gaskets is around $1400.00 I did find SE heads on ebay for $700.00 My buddies stripped down police model 88ci bagger with dual thunder headers **** all over my bike after the above mods. Which suprised the hell out of me! I want this bike to rip but be reliable.
Any 80ci evo pro's advise would be highly valued and appreciated.
thanks!

Your goal of approx. 85 hp is well within reach with that cam, and a set of OE castings re-worked, and a set of Wiseco pistons.

A Wood 8 will run those 80" Evo's well over 90/90.
Just dynoed one we did that the client assembled at home, in Lyons Falls N.Y., it went 98 hp 97 ft/lbs SAE, with 3.37 gearing in his FXR.

Great info, sounds like reworking the stock heads is the way to go..
Stock oem reworked heads perform better than stock SE heads?
Will the bike still be reliable, I will be going across state lines with this bike and racking up alot of miles, it wont be just for riding to the local bar and back home, at the same time I would like this thing to run from most other Harley's I come across. Is fuel economy gone with the big cams and 10.5-1 compression?

Not a bar hopper build at all.
Fuel economy is VERY good as the VE is way up on these.
Have to discuss via phone.

If you can open your wallet, get the SE heads and have them professionally ported.

I decided on SE heads, SE forged 10.5-1 pistons, SE-57 cam, should make 95hp according to Screamin Eagle. Thanks for all the input. Special thanks to "Firetender" for the hook ups - saved me over $400.00 on parts!

You could save more by having your own heads ported as Scott said above, just don't make the mistake of running SE (or S&S) heads "out-of-the-box".

BTW SBC, we hunt mulies in D7. Isn't that near you (aka Springville)?

It'll be mid-upper rpm biased with that cam.
