Default 95" without cams

Second owner. Previous owner put the 95" without cams in my bike. Looks like a big sucker air cleaner. What can I do to liven this up some more?

Cams?
Head work?
Exhaust? (I have SE slip on)

Any opinions?

I have a buddy with a 88" with head work and different cams that runs head to head power shifting and pinned.
I can outrun a 96" (might be out driving him too?)

Only two that I have been able to run side by side to compare.

You need a cam for a heavy bike, for good low end and mid. Check the andrews 26G (gear) or 26roller chain drive cam. One problem is you don't know what pistons you have, to be able to work out the needed compression. If you can get that info from previous owner your one step ahead. Some more info in this thread below

You hit all three, cams, headwork and exhaust. Andrews 21 or maybe the new Andrews 48H, mild velocity "street" porting and some Rush or Cycle Shack slipons and show your 88" buddy your tail light.

Your 88" buddy with cams and headwork should be way out in front of your otherwise stock 95". WildDeuce may be onto something. What pistons do you have? Compression? This may change your cam options.

If flat tops... Looks like you tour and ride 2up? 21's will give you some nice low to mid grunt. With a tune, 2n1, decking the heads accordingly = ~100 tq. 26's may give you a little less but pull a little longer.

A good* set of heads, set the compression at 10.2, with a Wood 6 cam set, and you'll have to buy your friend a gps to locate you!!!!!!!!
BTW, your fuel economy will go up as well, along with smoother running.

Have heard good things about some of the Andrews offerings. But I know for FACT that this combo works very well!

If you dont know what previous owner did or cant find out what he did when the rebuild was done. Do a simple compression test to see were you are with that.
Most likly if you want to go with bigger cam and all he did was a basic rebuild with no work to raise compression or smaller squish you will have to do some engine work, unless you put a mild cam in.

EFI, I am calling the dealer to find out what all they did. I have the receites but its unclear hopefully they can tell me. I did looked for a tuner and did not find one.

Local guy told me $1000 for head swap. Ported with bigger valves, heavy springs and compression release. Another $350 for cams. Me doing my own work.

Any other opinions?

You likely have SE cast flat top pistons and will need to work out the head work with your porter based on the cam you select. Stay away from heavy springs; most bolt in cams don't need them and they can be noisy.
