i was looking to put Vance & Hines true duals on my 08 ultra classic. then i came up with the idea of making my own, just cut out my crossover pipe, and weld in a patch. seems simple enough. is there anyone out there thats done this before, or heard of it being done. drop me a line.

I read a post on this forum where somebody used welsh plugs to block the cross over header pipe making his system duals. I personally have Samson dual headers and wish I brought the fullsac kit. I like the idea of having a couple of joints in the system for hot to cold expansion and vibration that will crack one piece headers over time.

If you are looking at true duals. Look at Rush they have ceramic coated pipes inside and out with chrome heatshields. We have put a lot of them on the fit and finish is great........ And so is the price....for what you get.............

 

we make our own pipes all the time,but here,HP & TQ wise,you`de be better off leaving your head pipe alone and putting a nice set of mufflers on it (suppertrapps)

 

I recently did this on my '92 Sportster. Readjusted the carb and runs fine with a little more exhaust noise.
