I have a stock 2000 softail with the cv carb on it and yesterday when I took it off this little thing hit the ground when I turned the carb sideways. It wasn't apart yet so I don't think it came from inside of it. Thanks

 

That is a little brass bushing that fits into one of the holes of the plastic top on the carb. It is usually under the support for the throttle linkage. Allows the hold down screw to be torqued without breaking the plastic.
