Default big sucker vs. heavy breather

I bought a carbureted 2000 Fatboy this weekend and it needs to breathe. Anybody know which way would be the best way to go? Arlen Ness makes the big sucker, then theres the screamin eagle heavy breather. Or any other suggestions would be helpful

Check out the Doherty Machine parts, very nicely made. People that have used many say that they are the best.

no one complains about the screaming eagle either

They both have a completely different look to them, just decide which one you like. They both filter more than enough air for the engine. I love my SE Heavy breather and when it starts to rain just pull over and put the rain sock on.

It depends on what look you like. I like old and went with the big sucker.

Make sure the heavy breather you installed is machined properly and not blocking the vent hole on the front of the carb. Had a big problem with first generation Force Forcewinder intakes (The heavy breather is based on the force intake). The relief for the vent wasn't machined large enough and blocked the hole. I installed a Force intake on a older Buell and the bike ran like crap until I enlarged the inside of the elbow facing the vent. No amount of jetting will get the bike running properly if that vent is blocked. Not sure if the early twin cam carbs are the same as the 40mm Kuhn on the old Buell/sportsters but it's worth looking into.
