Do I use some sort of sealant on these new metal base gaskets or just put 'em on? Neither the HD gasket kit nor the shop manual talks about it.

I tried installing them dry, as the instruction said. Leaked pretty bad. Then I installed with a very light smear of Black Magic silicone sealant. Dry as a bone.
