Default compression release do i need them

i have 08 dyna sg just put 103 pistons out of 08 police bike. and used .030 head gaskets i have se 255 cams,a/c thunderheader exhaust, power commander no $$$ for head work right now does this sound like a good set up.any thoughts will be helpful

You need compression releases with that setup; that cam closes 25* ABDC, pretty early close. A .040" head gasket would lower CR and keep cranking CR below 200psi. You are going to have starting problems and starter/battery life will be compromised. It may be difficult to tune as well, depending on the skill level of the tuner.

If your stuck on SE cams, the SE204 or SE211 would work produce a more "friendly" build. You can pick up a set of SE cams cheap on Ebay.

I mentioned in another thread, that there are MUCH better cams out there for you Dyna applications. That 255 "thing" is all in, off idle, and takes a screaming dump, as the rpm's build.

I love those dyno sheets like that, kinda reminds me of the cliffhanger game on price is right, they keep climbing and climbing, then they fall off the cliff...
