Default Headwork - Any Suggestions

Not satisfied with my build and looking to get some headwork done. I want to do it right this time, but as always, want to get the biggest bang for my buck.

Please give me suggestions on where I should go to get a good port, polish, and revalve. How much can I expect to pay with a core exchange, and what kind of performance boost should I expect.

Right now I am leaning towards going with the Zippers heads and they are only about 15 minutes from my house. That is really a pretty lousy reason, so any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Just an observation - you said you "want to do it right this time", dump the duals and get a 2n1. You will notice a very nice bump in performance. Also, did you have it tuned or use a caned map?

Are you planning on changing out the cams?

If you get that flow rolling off about 250-5 cfm @ 28, along with a set of S/E non-roller 1.725 rockers, and perhaps, as suggested a D&D Fatcat, you'll think you have a different engine!!

Scott I'm glad you elaborated about flow numbers this morning. First of all, it appears as the the blowing oil issue I spoke of last week was just a simple case of the crank being over filled. GREAT JOB STEALER!

I had my heads flow tested yesterday:

Intake Valve size = 190.4 Flow on the intake side = 263 CFM @28
Exhaust Valve size 1.625 Flow on the intake side = 230 CFM@28

A fat cat with performance baffle and new cams are going in as i type.

My point? It's nice to hear I have good flow numbers and I'm sure with the changes being made, I'll as you stated, "feel the difference"

I'm glad it's all comming back together.

Dyno Sheet to follow.

BD.

Firetender,

No, they had nothing to do with my engine work. It appears as though after a major TC and near death incident, they did a good job at getting the main frame back in order.
