Default VOES?

I went and bought a Mikuni carb. HSR42 Smoothbore. Have you ever worked on one? They are saying plug the carb in the V.O.E.S. They are saying it's by the horn, but my horn is just a horn, with only electrical plugs, not vaccum. Have you heard of V.O.E.S.? I ended up just plugging it in the same vaccum the stock one did. Right now if I twist the throttle before starting it wil run about 2 seconds and stop. I twist the throttle and start, it will run 2 seconds etc.

Default RE: VOES?

That is vacuum operated electrical switch. It a small black device with a vacuum line hooked to it as well as a wiring plug. It senses engine vacuum and will advance or retard the timing. Sounds to me like you have the vacuum and fuel lines reversed........
