Just finished my big bore a few weeks ago. Economy forced me to stay on the low budget side. Wasn't what I wanted ( scooter was down 8 months and couldn't take it anymore ) but went with the SE 95" jugs, 203 cams, hydraulic cam plate, high flow oil pump etc...and power commander pre loaded by Jamie at Fuel Moto. Did the work myself. Just this past weekend I completed the prescribed break in period and finally got to roll the throttle! I was very impressed! Had several factory 96" bikes in front of me in our group and had no trouble at all running up and over them when pulling away from lights etc...we were two up all day to boot! The only scooter in the pack that pulled away was a friends 110" CVO SE Ultra but,.........I stayed with him till the little lady started hitting me on the back of my head! She felt that 120 mph was enough! :-) 99 Ultra Classic.

Girls can have that effect! My wife and I enjoyed a tour in Europe with a bunch of BMW riders (we were the only Harley). One lady told us how she uses a helmet head butt to tell her husband off for riding too fast - the forehead of her helmet and the rear of his told their own story!

If you really want more low end and mid-range the TW21 is the only cam. It gives you the most in that area of any aftermarket cam. The 26 will outrun it from maybe 5000rpm up.... do you need it to do that?

Hi Graham,

Haven't seen you around lately. You might also want to look into the HQ 0034 as for a cam only switch, it works real well. There is an HQ dealer in the UK http://www.powerglides.co.uk/ If you call, ask for Boz and tell him I recommended him.

Many thanks Dalton, I know of Boz!

Thanks to you all for your input. With your suggestions I have felt able to look at these things with a little more confidence and have identified a few possible candidates. The information available differs between brands, so it is not easy to pick just one out present. I've created a spreadsheet....

Andrews claims both TW21 and TW26 are bolt in cams for low to mid-range torque. The TW21 is recommended for 88 inch motors, while the TW26 is recommended for 88-95" motors and two-up touring. Here are the descriptions from them.
TW21,
Bolt-in 88 cam: more torque for all-around riding with heavy bikes; intended for stock compression ratios and pistons. Similar to #23 cam in EV80. (1700-4800 RPM).
TW26,
Bolt-in cam for 88-95 inches - stock compression ratio. Great for two-up touring, this cam will add torque and HP at lower and middle RPM ranges. (1800-5200 RPM).

So for me the TW26 was the only cam. My bike is a 95" between the two I wanted a cam made for the 95" upgrade.

Dont tell the guys with 95" kits and 21's that they should have installed 26's. And their are a lot of those guys, just not on this site. Here is another source other than forums and chat rooms.

Not sayin to do 21's. Just keeping it real

I dunno I heard those little 21's were no better than stock cams LOL. I have done both 26's and 21's in a 95" and in a bagger 4th or 5th gear roll on from 60-90 the 21's will out pull the 26's. I made 97 ft/lbs torq with 21's on a 95". both are good cams.
