Default Question re Fatcat and SE211 CAM

I'm wondering if my SE211 cam is a bad match for my new Fatcat 2 into 1 pipe. When I originally put in the SE211 with my V&H BSS, my low end torque stayed about the same but the high end jumped quite a bit. But the extra torque didn't kick in till I got over 3500 rpm. Last month I replaced the BSS with a Fatcat. After a dyno tune I saw a nice jump in the low end but the high end torque dropped. It seems the Fatcat with the quiet baffles doesn't push enough air thru at high rpm. But I really like the way the bike feels at lower rpm. Now I'm wondering if this cam is a bad match for the Fatcat on a 96 incher. It seems like the Fatcat with the quiet baffles is a good low end pipe but the SE211 is a high rpm cam. Is there a better cam for the Fatcat that will help the low end, and if so, how much. If it's only 2-3 ft lbs, then I'll leave it alone. But if I can get 5 or more ft lbs on the low end, I'd consider it.

Here's the last dyno run after I put on the Fatcat.

Ya might wanna consider a little bump in compression. The 211 really likes 10:1 (or a little more).

Simply adding a bigbore (103) would help, as it would increase compression a bit simply from the increase in volume, not to mention a couple extra cubes....

Phil is right if you keep the 211s.

But there is also an alternative if you dont want to go into the engine, and that would be a changing the cams to a HQ 500 or 525, the 500 will bring on the torque much earlier, the 525 a couple of hundred rpms later, T-Man 525 or Andrews 26 would be similar to the HQ 525.

Any of these will be at peak torque way before your current cams, and may give you 4 - 6 ft lbs more of torque with a good tune..

Its all about what you want and how you ride. Then go from their... Sounds like you prefer more low end now that you experienced it. So, yes, other cams will provide that and the FC will work great. Pretty much any 2n1 works better than a 2n2 for low to mid tq. And you are correct about the quiet baffle being more restrictive in the upper rpms.

Agreed, 26's are a good combo with your 96", FC and a tune.
