Default 114" cam choice - heavy bike

Touring bike, 114", ported heads. Have 2 cams available a R&R .615 and DM.590. I've been told to run the R&R at 10.8, and the DM at 10.5. Which will be better for torque between 2500-4500rpm?

The DM will help the bike come on cam earlier. It you want it(TQ) to hit earlier in the rpm range then run the DM.Those comp ratios seem about right!!!

Of the 2, i would pick the Mackie. But if i was going to start from scratch, neither. Are you open for other options?

Thanks SEDELUXE, Can you explain further? The tw8 has a about the same intake close as the R&R and the duration on the intake is a couple degrees different. The DM and T-man are are a degree off on the intake closing, and duration 2 on the exhaust. Thanks.

A Wood 408 would be a torque monster.
If that lift spooks you, then a 6H will flatline about 125 plus ft/lbs(or more) from off-idle to about 5000 in that combo, set @ 10.3 cr, tuned properly, with a good exhaust.
