Default Question about dead Harley engines.

I repaired about 30 car engines and all of them except one died because of owner's fault. Overheating, no oil, water in engine etc.
My question is for engine mechanics. Did you see a lot owner's fault dead engines or they die naturally?

Number one killer is lack of maintenence.

according to SOME its always the owners fault....... espeacially when you buy parts from them that self destruct after its installed. oh they will tell you its guaranteed it just has a warrantee that lasts as long as it takes for the credit card to clear after that you are on your own.

No such thing as a dead motor.

Sick, yes. Dead, no.

Not when Dr. Faast comes to the rescue!!! LOL

Sorry for distracting from the original question.
I agree that lack of maintenance is indeed the fault of the owner.

Too many people think of these things like they think of their car. Especially the new, first time, owners. Run it and forget about it till next time. Have to admit I am somewhat guilty of this. I do watch the tires, look for liquid leaks and listen for strange noises when walking away. Old, hard learned, habits.

To me they must be though of like a airplane. Check everything before, monitor while riding, and watch the bike after parking for evidence of trouble. And watch that the ding dong lights are off when walking away. Everytime.

Cell phones and money are not the answer to everything that can happen while on a bike.

Very rarely do we see parts worn out, most of the engines we get in are for hop up kits. Occasionally we see an engine in here with heat damage from what Bob said or the crankshaft twisted for some reason.

I might just have to retract my comment about "dead" motors. LOL
