Default Procharger

Hi all. New chum from Australia here. Fitted Procharger to my '05 Fatty in Nov '09. 88 cube motor with SE 211 cams, and flowed heads. Started out with 70 RWHP and 77 ft/lbs torque. After tuning, 10 psi boost, 5500 rpm redline, had 122 RWHP, and 117 ft/lbs torque. This bike is never going to a drag strip. I just want to be able to ride it anywhere, anytime I want. I am so happy with the results. Buying a Procharger in Australia isn't cheap-cost me AUS$8400 (US$7500). Add $400 for dyno tuning. It is about the same as putting a big bore motor in-give or take-but it's that bit different. As well as going like stink, it attracts attention whenever it's parked.
Just did a return ride across Australia-5500 miles total-with my wife on her new XL 1200C Sporty. Loved it! Overtaking is a breeze. Only issue is encountering very hot weather-the air isn't dense, and the intercooler doesn't work so well (I'm talking about 117 deg F however). Never have to change down. Almost think I need a taller top gear-or put in a 6 speed-the funnel I can pour money down never goes away!
Frank Drago has confirmed these potential heat related issues. He knows his stuff.
Cheers, Doc

Your crank will be fine... I have had my procharger on all summer and put over 5K HARD miles on it. Just dont use engine as brake. Use brakes. its the decel that kills them.

that's definitely good to hear!!! I never use my engine as a brake anyway...I'm always using the brakes. I just click the tranny into neutral to be safe

At higher RPM's the Rods and Pistons are subjected to more Tension than Compression.

Means stretching the rods and pistons is the biggers concern. At redline. So seems to me 5500 is fine but the engine could go higher.

HD rods are pretty strong, the only real concern is to use forged pistons. Good reason is the stronger rod pin area besides the stronger top.

I guess shifting at 5500 puts things a little lower in the torque curve and would be easier on the drivetrain. Thats a good thing.

I bet this on a Rocker is nice. I road a Rocker once and kept reaching back for the seat back. There isn't one, so hang on.

Yeah I know....i need to get a back rest...but the only bad thing is that a back rest on that bike will look kind of stupid. So i guess I will just have to hang on!

Awesome! This guy put one on his CVO RG and Jamie from FM helped tune it. And even though a backrest might look stupid, you may want one or you might get sucked off the back Have fun!!

The bike has been sitting for a couple of days now and still NO LEAKS! thank god....The real test was to have it on the kickstand. I was hoping that the primary covers and the primary itself was sealed.(and they are)
