Default Stock Lifter Oil Hole Orientation

Buttoning up my '04 DWGI cam chest and am in a quandry.
When I removed the stock lifters during disassembly I wrote down orientation details. The oil holes in the lifters were all facing outward toward me.
I now note that the service manual (p. 3-43) says the oil holes should face "inboard", which I take to mean face inward toward the cylinders.

Anyone with experience able to clarify?

Thanks.

Same here, lifters came out with holes facing out, put them in the same way. Still are quite and have great oil pressure.

In looking over old service manuals, I think it's one of those things just left in there and never changed. if you look at a TC lifter bore, it doesn't matter because of the way the oil flows around the lifter. I believe in EVO motors, the oil passage was on one side of the lifter bore and they wanted it to hit the lifter hole right away. Anyway, that's all old memory stuff, could be fuzzy but what I do know is you can put them either way in a TC and it doesn't matter.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the time you took to post your replies.

I reinstalled the lifters today before reading your replies. I, too, looked at the bore and hedged my bets. I installed the inner lifters w/ the oil hole facing out and the outer lifters w/ the oil hole facing in.

Since the concensus is it doesn't matter, I think I can leave them that way.

Agree?
