I bought a flame led fuel guage but it doesnt read right.Itstill had 3 lights on when out of gas

 

might check the mfg. you might need the sender for the gage if it can not be compensated externally. there might be a trim pot on the board to adjust the voltage level.

the stealer sells after market also so if it is not an hd item, see if they can supply the install instructions or where you can get them. i wish i could help more but my fuel gage is looking into the tank or my trip gage. however, there is a chip which looks at the sender voltage level and turns on the corresponding led. also, if it is after market, the direction of the voltage travel also makes a difference as the same between ford and chevy senders. if i can get time, i will look further into the led gage. hope you get though!!! i hate pushing also no matter what kills it.

i did a short check and found atleast on the one i saw, that the unit must go through a sender learn mode to sync the display to the sender. i would assume that the sender must be stroked through its range while the display in in the cal mode. once again, if the seller can not help, contact the mfg.
