I'm planning to remove my stock pipes and install V&H Big Shot Longs myself and I consider my mechanical skills to be about 7.5 or 8.0 on a scale of 10. Pipes will be delivered on 11-18. Before I get started, anyone think hell yeah do it yourself or hell no take it to a pro before you totally screw up. ??? I wouldn't think twice about it except I just got the Heritage about a month ago, my first Harley, and because I don't have any green to burn, except on the new pipes and maybe some new Thunder Monster baffles and other stuff like that.

 

Do it yourself............it's a simple job to swap out exhausts.

Don't pay a dealer to do anything on your bike, chances are they are going to screw it up anyhow.

Definitely DIY. A lot of folks recommend the SE gaskets. A new set of gaskets should come with the pipes. If you use them be very careful putting them in (after taking the old one's out of course).

On my last pipe change I didn't even change them and they worked fine with no leaks.
