Because of where I live, noise unfortuneitly is an issue. What slip-ons would be one notch above stock in terms of low rumble, but yet still yield performance increase?

Mntcruiser, here are some pipes for you to check out; ebay #270007109219.

Stumpman, check out this guys pipes, do a search for "bobvic2" on ebay, I have the 2" Superflows, very deep sound, they really wake up when you twist the wick, but mellow at crusing speeds, I love 'em

I have bought 2 sets of pipes from him, one set for a friend and one set for me, he is very good to work with, and they're relatively cheap too!!
I tried samsons, hooker tuned flow, thunder headers, and rineharts on my RK, none were as deep sounding *to me* as these superflows, and NO, I don't work for this guy, I just really like the sound of these slip-ons.
Ditto on what Orlando RK said, go to a rally or some type of gathering and listen for what you like, that's how I found out about this guy and his pipes.

Good luck on your search for what sounds best to you.

K.

Thanks for the info kansasroadking. I just chatted with Bob and bought a set. The hard part of any purchase is the wait!

I had Wild Pigs on my RK I have Vance & Hines on my RG I think for the money it's really hard to beat the Wild Pigs.
ORIGINAL: Stumpman

Which ones produce the deepest most mellow sound out there? I know these are your opinions but I would like to hear them. I'm trying to decide on which ones to get. I have been looking at the rineharts duals but they are pricy.
