Default Stock louder?

So is there a way to make my stock pipes louder? I had planned on buying a set of V&H pipes, but I was doin some reading and some said that the sound didn't change that much. What do u guys think? I haven't done anything to my night train yet, it's still stock, and it's time for an upgrade!

I find it difficult to believe that you wouldn't notice a significant difference. I don't know about Night Trains, but I heard my Super Glide stock and them with the SEII slip-ons and IMHO there was a major difference. V & H are reportedly louder than the SE's. I'd highly recommend doing the pipes, and also getting the air kit and rejet or re-map. Art

Pat,

Someone gave you some bad info. Punching out your stock pipes is not a good idea. They don't always sound good. V&H has a nice deep throaty sound to them and SE IIs sound really good too.

Oh buddy! V&H are louder than stock...I got a pair of the V&H "quite baffles" to tone them down a bit. They sound great deep mellow tone. That's my .02

V&H Bigshot Longs with the quiet baffle and SE air cleaner and the sound is MUCH better, along with performance. You'd never mistake the V&H pipes for stock.
