Default S&S 106 Hot Setup underway

I have been researching this for quite some time. I have a 2000 Road King Classic with 50,000 miles on the clock, and it was time for some freshening up! I looked at several options from just doing the 95 kit to doing a 124. After talking to some of my local riders that have the 106 stroker kit, I was sold. It seems like the best balance for what I was looking for: Big torque and reliability. I am doing the S&S 106 "Hot Setup"stroker kit, S&S Super Stocker heads, 585 Gear driven Cams, electric compression releases, new Fueling oil pump and Cam support plate, and new heavy duty clutch. I am having the S&S heads cleaned up before install to bump the compression to 10.1:1 from the kit standard 9.8:1. As for the final number in the equation, I knew I had to something about my Magneti Marelli Fuel Injection or the entire build would be a waste. I looked at several options here as well, but decided to go all out. I am doing the Marelli to Zippers Performance 50mm fuel injection conversion with the auto tune.

The build is currently underway, and should be finished by Halloween weekend. I will be sure to update, as soon as I do the break in!

The same kit as I currently had/have on my bike, minus the fuel injection. My heads are just "casting cleaned-up", no major port or bowl work. I had the 585's in for a few hundred miles and then swapped them out for a set of Woods 9B's. I believe my before and after dyno sheets are here on the site somewhere...

Good Luck!!

The UPS Claus just delivered my 106" kit yesterday. The bike is on the lift, tore down and awaiting for me to continue the rebuild, when work permits me . I know this build will get the results that ncturbos got, but I think my buttmeter will be very pleased with it.

NC,
I see you made mention of the 9B already. Good choice!
We see 120/120 plus with our 107" drop-on kits as well, with that cam/our heads. At 120 square, that is a ton of fun!!

Scott,

I'm hoping the big brown truck shows up today so I can finish putting the rear wheel back on the bike and ride!!! I'm anxious to she how the bike reacts to the new 3.34 ratio versus the 3.15 ratio!!
