engine stalling
Last friday I replaced the foul plugs for my !991 HD FXRS-SP with a 1340 evolution motor. I took it for a ride a few miles but it stalled at the red light. I was puzzled by this so I pushed the starter button and it ran fine. I checked the gas line , it was fine. I had full tank of gas, and rode for a few miles. So far it was great . The weather temp was a bit cool for me to ride.(63 degrees). When I returned home and downshifted to 2nd gear in the parking lot near the apartment complex at about 20 mph. It stalled again . What the heck??? Help me out , bikers!! I noticed my pipes are yellowish. So far my bike had stalled 3 times. It never happened to me before but I would be much appreciated if anyone had suggestions.

RE: engine stalling
It could be one of several things like Mike said. Has the bike sit for a long period without running if so did you drain the tank and put in fresh fuel? Make sure you installed the correct plugs for that year model, if you were fouling plugs the bike might be a little on the rich side, also you could have some water/trash/rust in the gas tank and or carb. Did the bike restart right away or did it take a while?

RE: engine stalling
If it started after you installed the plugs, I would start there. Double check your work, ensure you haven't dammage a plug wire and that they are fully seated against the plug. The smallest nick in the wire will be enough. Make sure you used the right plugs and the gap is correct.
