Help with Cams.....
Can some one explain the differences in cams? My father gave me a set of SE203's. I do not know anything about cams. Are 203's good? He has a TC88 '01 softtail standard with some head work and carb. My TC88 '03 touring is efi. Will these cams fit? They say for carbed bikes on them. Please help. It would be great if I could put them in. Thanks.

the specs on the 203's are as follows: 234/239 duration, .510/.483 lift. they are a bolt in cam, meaning NO high lift springs, headwork, etc. required.
The 203's are a decent cam. i run them in my 99 dyna. i got the same deal as you. free. i also have a mikuni carb, and six speed tranny. they work fine for me but i will eventually upgrade to S+S gear drive cams.

203's will give you more low and mid tq than stock. And yes, you will feel the diff. Ask auto128 and Anibiss (something like that). They both installed 203's in 88"s recently.

Not sure what the spec difference is in carb 203 compared to efi 203. You may want to look into that further...

They will work and will be an improvement over stock.
I would not pay for them, but you did not either.... so the price is certainly "right".
When ya install them, be sure to replace the stock inner (INA) cam bearings with Torrington B148's.
You will need a tune after the fact, in order get the most out of them. It has been my experience that the 203's are kinda lazy until you hit 3k RPM, where they begin to pull pretty good.
