Gord,

Your Harley will always feel like it is going to meltdown so that is not a problem. I would have it remapped though if I were you. You could damage the engine if it is running too lean. My Rineharts did not lean my bike out but we made other adjustments when I had it dyno'd.

Are you running an Ultra with lowers, if so you will feel a little more heat around your legs and crotch. This is normal. If it is too much for you, you can take off the lowers or order some really cool vents from eglidegoodies.com.

I love my lowers even with the little added heat. Of course I live in Illinois where it can be 50 one day and 90 the next.

Terry,

Thanks for the info! I'll get the stage one done SAP. Meanwhile I'll pull a plug and check it.
I notice it runs rough in 1st and 2nd-like it is missing.

Thanks,
Gord.

While at Americade I asked an engineer at the Harley tent about true duels. Its got to cost a lot more to make that back pipe split then to just an el. He said it has to do with back pressure in the valves and low end torque. On a stock 88 they would actually hurt performance. More for the 103ci.mill that needs the flow.
As for mufflers, I think everyone has a different ear for noise. The Wingers I ride with hate my SE Is. But they hated the V&Hs ovals I had on my other Ultra too. Another Ultra rider has SE IIs and he swears they're quieter them mine till he rode my bike. The noise is behind you at speed. They just bark louder on take off.[:@]
I just wrapped the back pipe Y with ceramic header tape. Seems a bit cooler. But I haven't been in any traffic yet.

When asking about the warranty and installing the SERT, SE slip-ons and Stage 1, my dealer said (and put it in writting) that they'd honor the warranty and long as I didn't do extreme mods such as "true dual" exhaust... I thought that kind of funny they said that but I had no intention of doing it anyway so...

Just purchased a 07 Ultra Classic - Trying to decide what to do with the exhaust - If I remove one baffle will it make any difference? If I remove two? Really don't want to do a Stage1 at this time that is why I considering only doing the baffles.Should I wait until I can replace the exhaust with something else - Want more noise but would still like to be able the hear the radio and wife.

Thanks,

1st. Welcome to the "club" I'm sure you'll love your new Ultra. That is after you make it your own.
The best "bang for the buck" I think is the B&E remanufactured pipes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-E-S...QQcmdZViewItem
Only one that give you a 100% money back guarantee.
Doesn't get any better then that.
Oh...And check out http://www.hogtunes.com/membersdealpage.htm
You'll need them anyway...LOL
